Parenting Pathway Podcast: Grieving Well

Parenting Pathway PodcastThis is an unusual topic for Parenting Pathway, but after taking Dr. Andi Thacker’s class on Death and Dying at Dallas Theological Seminary last year, I knew it was a topic I wanted to dig into on our podcast. It would be easy to pass over this and say, “That doesn’t apply to me.” But grieving can happen at any time, and over anything you lose that is important to you.  .  Sure, you will grieve at the loss of a family member or close friend, but what about a marriage that falls apart, or a child who is born with a physical disability, or a job you lost? In each of these situations, we grieve the missed expectations and the loss of anticipated results.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

If God is always with us, why do we suffer lose? If God is our strength and will helps us, why do we feel so much pain?

This week two friends, Dr. Andi Thacker and Pastor of Care Ministries Steve Fisher join us to talk about allowing yourself the room to grieve, to truly feel the emotions it brings, and grieve well.  Such an amazing question… What is grieving well?

  1. Excellent, you’ve put into words what I’ve experienced. God is trustworthy! Thank you. I’m passing this on to others.
